16 Inch Wheels

Does anyone know of any makers of 16 inch wheels that are avaialable for sale to fit a 1987 coupe. I relalize that that size wheel is not popular these days, but the choice of wheels four older cars appears to be very limited while the tuner market has an abundance of wheels.

Finding the proper offset is the key to aftermarket wheels. American Racing makes their Torq-Thrust II wheel in custom offsets and backspacing so they can fix you up. www.americanracing.com

One other problem you may find in staying with a 16" wheel is that sources for a 255/50-16 tire may become scarce. A 275/45 tire will work as a substitute but they are slightly larger in diameter. Go to the Tire Rack website www.tirerack.com and use their tire size search function to see what availability there is for the 255/50-16 tire. You can find H-rated tires, but a V or W rated tire may be hard to find.

Thanks for the information, this is one of the wheels I have considered. I guess I will have my current wheels repainted or powder coated.
