Hello All,
I'm looking at some 17x9.5 wheels for all four corners, has anyone done this, any rubbing on the front? What backspace would be recommended? Have chrome saw-blades now.
Thank for your help
Steve

96, with LT4 engine

Have 17x9.5s with 275-40s an all 4s on my 91, no problems,i'm sure it came stock with them.:beer

The Z51 Vettes came with all four tires as 17in 9.5s... Thats 17/40/275s on all 4 corners!:cool Its great for handling!:lou

Get a pair of 17x11 ZR1 wheels for the rear and move your 9.5 wheels to the front.

From 89 to 92, 17x9.5 wheels and 275 tires were standard all around. In 93, the standard Vette got the front wheel/tire size reduced but the Z07 and Z51 cars still got the 9.5 wheel all around. So, no problem. I'd go for a set of Collector Edition 5-spoke wheels if possible.

I guess I'm just stupid, 56mm, what will that mean in back spacing? I know my stock rears have a 7.4" backspacing, should the all be 7.4"? Can back spacing be a little less to create a deeper dish look?

I'd like wheels & tires that wide on my Trans Am....;squint:

You know... so I can do a little :loutoo!

Seriously- post some pics when you settle on what you want! :thumb

Justintime. You can get by with different offset wheels for a deep dish look, but about the most you can get away with is a few mm. without adding flares. You can buy aftermarket wheels that appear to give you a bit of that dished look. Just today I installed C6 Z06 styled wheels. The original wheels for my 92 are 56 mm on all 4 corners. My new front wheels are 17" 9.5" wide 56 mm offset, my rears are 18" 10.5" with 54 mm offset. I used 275/40/17's in the front, and 295/35/18's in the rear. My wheels do not have the deep dish look, but they are available. Heres a pic.

20" wheels work???

I been looking for a wheel post lol. Will 20" wheels work?? I want to look at different styles and see what will or will not work.

different look

Just thought something a little bigger would fill in the wheel well better. Don't want anything too big. 20 may be a bit large. New vettes have 20 on the back but ass is bulkier to so prbly looks better. I hear 18 are more expensive and its cheaper for tires to go with 19 or 20

Beautiful Car Sunstroked

The wheels I've decided on are 17x9.5, with a maximum 7" backspace that can be ordered, anyone see a problem with that backspace? If I understand all this sizing correctly my rears will extend about 1/2" more and about an 1" more on the front

thanks guys

WOW !!! so you guys really make a simple question into a huge deal lol. Kinda makes me wish I never asked. Oh and btw the new vettes have 19" wheels and look just fine to me. Oh well sorry I asked.

There just fooling with ya! New Vettes have body styles that compliment the 19's, C4's really look best in 17's or 18's at the most, in my opinion. To each his own.
