Anyone running 18 inch wheels on their vette? I have been looking at some aftermarket rims and wondered if I should go up to the 18s. Just trying to freshen the look of my 93....

If it were me I'd pass....

The main reason being the price of tires for 18" rims vs. 17" rims.

The other thing is that it could make the car look ghetto.

True Dave,
I haven't seen any that really compliment the vette as opposed to making it look tacky.....

The newer C5 wheels seem to look good... I have seen all 18 inch used, and the mixed set of 18 and 17 inch. I still really like the ZR1/Grand sport style 'A-Mold' wheels though... Z06 owners do too, since track times are better with the 17 inch wheels, instead of the stock Z06 wheels. The real benefit of the A-Molds is it adds value to the car because it gives a factory look, with a personal touch.

hey there,
i would do it,it will look killer.im putting 19s on my c5 latter, every other c4 i see has the a-mold wheels.i put some on an 89 and regreted it from day one.i traded in the car for the c5,the first thing the guy said was do they all come with those wheels?look at Da Hawaiian Punchs car,has my origanal c5 wheels on it and the car is also very low.bolted right on.do something origanal.there are a lot of options, just look around.a few people use a-mold/zr-1 rims at the 1/4 mile also.thats because they need an extra set of rims to put race tires on,there cheap and they will clear the calipers.there getting faster times because of the sticky tires not the a-mold rims.look at lots of rims, dont make a fast decision you will regret later.post some pics when installed,o.k.later,Todd.

18's can look awesome but it is easier to pull off IMO if your car is lowered.

If money is not an object I think you would be hard pressed to go past some of the Fikse, OZ, and Speedline wheels. I have seen some awesome 18's on C4's from all of these companies.

I like my 17" sawblades, hard to beat those on a C4.

I have 18" Y2K rims on all 4 corners and love 'em

20'S ARE GHETTO, 18'S ARE THE LIMIT. YOU CANT BEAT A UPGRADED AGRESSIVE LOOK WITH THE 18'S. BUT THEN EVERY
ONE HAS THERE OWN TASTE. I WAS TOLD MINE WOULD NOT LOOK GOOD WITHMY 17's (YEA RIGHT) :w

they are 285/35s all around, i had 275s on front and 295s on the rear, but decided to go for uniformity w/ the new tires and no, no brake upgrade :D

Looking at your pic again what kind of exhaust and mufflers are you running? How loud are they?

hi there

My rims are speciale made for my vette, They can have minimal 700 Nm of torqe on the rearwheels. They are from the Braid company they made rims till 22"x 15"...owwww....that's huge!

My rims are in the rear 18 x 13 and in front 18 x 10.

I like those! You wouldn't happen to have info or a web address on the company who made them would you?

I have a 1986 vette, so my rearaxle is less wider than later vettes! I have used the ZR1 backspacing and use grandsportfenders, this setup made my vette looking awsome FAT. Ofcourse you need to mount the 335 in the rear!

I hope you will find what you need, the choice is limeted. And as far I know there is a dealer in the us, mail them!

I use the B&B triflow 2,5 ", no cats, no egr tubes, TPIS 1 3/4" longtube headers. It sounds like nascar............

Thanks for the info..... I have already emailed them......

Do you have any issues with rubbing? So you used the stock 86 offset and put the extra inches of rim out the outside??/ Correct? Or did you add some rim to the inside????

Does the wheel hit the flare? What type of shocks, springs are you using? Is your car lowered over an inch??? looks like almost 2 inches lower..
