the car was done in 1959, you young guys have to realize Corvettes were not reguarded the same back then. many people, my self included called them "my plastic toy". In that era they were just a car not an exotic like a Ferrarri: it was and is a clean custom job but I wouldn't pay 120,000 for it.

I'm with Craig, that car is a time capsule and should be seen as that. Two years ago at Carlisle I saw a 64 with the strangest lime green paint job, flowers and stuff everywhere and the gaudiest body mods I've ever seen. I though "gawd that is oogy" but then I read the placard. It stated the car was exactly as it was modded back in the early 70's and had all of the details. I guess this just shows that as in beauty, timelessness is in the eye of the beholder.

I once reminded a friend of mine about 'beauty being in the eye of the beholder'; he reminded me that, "Yeah, and so is ugly."

rlm :cool :beer

I also remember the green one, and I thought it was ugly also, although I do have to admit I don't mind custom early corvettes, has anyone evr seen or have a pic of the '54 (?) that is in the Klassic Museum in Daytona, that one I would take.

What do you think about what was done to #77? Would you pay $120 for it?
It'll be more than Harerazn with an exhaust system like that. :L

I can see why ProTeam priced it as they did; some collector will nab this one and it'll continue to spend it's life as an expensive dust catcher. That being said, it's a clean example of the custom era, so maybe that's the best place for it- in a museum or collection.

That car was on the Barrett Jackson preview last night,it must be going to be there at the end of the month.

That's where ProTeam bought it last year. I wonder what their reserve is. I can't remember what they paid last year. -Eric

I saw the car at BloomingtonGold, and I liked it - alot - and I don't ever want to own another red car (personal choice - no flames please).

It's a vast improvement over a 53 design and it has all the styling cues of the late 50s USA custom cars, while remaining unique.

I don't expect anyone with cubic dollars to buy it - probably go to a museum.

VERY UNIQUE!!!

I think that says it...
I can appreciate it, but personally, I wouldn't want to own it.

I would be too tempted to turn it back into a 53

It is 1 of 300!!

The only one at Barrett Jackson sold for $208600!!! Very impressive. So at 120, you could restore back to original and have money left over.

That car last weekend wouldhave brought $150,000 for sure, and maybe more.

Jim, it's interesting to note that in our poll, although there's no clear 'winner' per se, not a single person indicated they wanted to own Harerazn.

I'll date myself by saying it looks like something Ed " Big Daddy Roth " might have created with those "Bandit" style headlights. :D :beer :w

As I stated before... I would not want to change a piece of classic customization history.... (I would love to see the Corvette Museum pick this item up)
but... PERSONALLY I would prefer to own a '53 with the original body lines...

I would keep me up an nights... change it? Yes... er... No... er... Yes... er... No
