Hi,

I don’t own a Corvette, but hope you folks can help me with a piece of Corvette memorabilia I’ve found. It’s an original 1957 Sales Brochure. I checked ebay, but everything listed there seems to be “high quality reproduction” originals. This is the real thing, and is in good shape. Can anyone here point me to a source for valuing this?

Thanks,

Chris Davis

Nice find Chris. Welcome to the Corvette Action Center. I was recently given an original 1958 sales brochure by a gentleman that used to pick up these things at the dealer in the '50s. Fortunately he also put them away where they wouldn't get harmed.

I don't know of any source for looking up values on this sort of thing. Checking the Corvette Literature classifieds section of Hemmings Notor News, in print or at www.hemmings.com , might show up like or similar year examples for sale. Some appear in the NCRS Driveline, available to NCRS members, occasionally too.

Maybe someone else here has had a recent experience with rare Corvette literature.

Well Chris, We got lucky. I just looked in the new issue of the Driveline and found an ad by a NCRS member that is also a literature collector. He has original 1956 and 1957 sales brochures for $45. 1958- 1967 for $35. Also most other years at various prices. His site is www.autolit.com .

Thanks!

Hi Tom,

Just what I was looking for.

This is a neat piece of memorabilia, but at the end of the day, it's still a sales brochure. Funny some of the values excited friends and family put on it. :-)

Thanks again for your help.

Well Chris. Now there is only one thing you can do. Buy a 1957 Corvette to go with your sales brochure. :D

Those on the other hand...

are expensive!

(Still... sure looks good in the sales brochure....)

:)
