Hey 61 Silver, Tell us more. How did the painting go? What was your choice for primer? Have you test fired the motor yet? Very exciting! I am just a few steps behind you and your pics look very familiar. Great job. You are really moving right along. Soon you will be back to one garage bay instead of 2 :L
... I just saw that you answered my question on paint quantity, thanks. I got so excited when I saw your thread I forgot to check mine. If you have any more pics to share that would be great.

Very nice. Thanks for the pictures.

Looks great! The body on my 1960 is just about done and I hope to start on the suspension soon. Still a long way to go, but hope to be in your present state in late 2005. Would love to go quicker, but the wallet can only stand so much pain! Like all good things, it takes time! Good luck and keep up the pictures, you inspire those of us who are trying to do the same!

Hi! Studiog

I have sprayed thousands of gallons of wood lacquer, but this was my first attempt at auto lacquer. I did apply the polly-primer and DZ-3 primer on my 65, but had a friend spray the lacquer in a down draft booth. I have been told that Silver Metallic is one of the hardest lacquers to spray and can't wait to see what the car looks like in the sunlight. I have a few suggestions for you if you plan on spraying in your garage. I purchased fiberglass window screen and covered the barn door opening and you wouldn't believe the amount of cotton wood seeds and other items that were caught in the screen. Second: Clean clean clean, car and floor. Third: Wipe down the car with anti-static product, grease and oil remover and tac rages. I believe that the 61 finished cleaner that the 65 and it was sprayed in a barn.

Thanks to all for the kind comments and I hope to have the 61 on the road for the NCRS National in Windsor Ont. Canada

Red interior?

Looks great Ray. A very good friend had a silver / red 270hp car two years ago. He drove it to the Pomona Swap just to have fun and someone offered him stupid money for the car. It had red interior, and was silver with white cove. What an outstanding color on that car. Everyone commented last weekend about........where is that car, and how great it looked.

Good luck with Windsor. You have lots of work to do to make it ready.
Jim
