Well its been a few weeks since I post my progress. This is the latest update. I still hope to have the car completed (engine) by Carlisle.

The block is rebuilt, new cam, seals, rods, valves, lifters, etc. Its been painted (ten coats of Chevy Orange). Correct oil pan was glass beaded and repainted Chevy Oranges, head rebuilt and are on the engine, etc. Exhaust manifolds painted with protective paint so they will not rust. They look good. Will complete engine assembly by next week.

In meantime, we are taking apart and taping back the engine bay for repaint of the fire wall, and around that area. Removed the heater elements, brake booster, and the wiper motor, all being replaced with new ones. Somebody patch together the heater box with fiberglass tape and repainted it, looked really bad. Hope to have this completed and painted by weeks end.

Did find a bad Steering radius bar, which was need to be replace, got the part today. Several other little things needed to be ordered and got the pieces in.

Cam shaft install went easy, no problems, added the correct harmonic balancer for L76, its finned etc. So the engine is looking really nice, just got to finish assembly and drop back into the car.

Going to retape the wire harnesses and freshen them up, and remove previous overspray from the hood latch wires etc.

I hope to get everything complete the week before Carlisle and work out the engine bugs before driving it up there. Thats my hope....I will post progress pictures later on....

:crazy :v
