My matching number 1966 Coupe with a L79 Engine and a M20 Transmission has a rear end stamped: "AS101165" My books tells me that this is a "4-Speed 3.70 Ratio Non-Posi." My question is: Being that this is different from the standard "AK" 3.38 Ratio Non-Posi that would have come with my motor/trans setup, How does one order this? What codes would they had to use? And what would the window sticker look like? (ECL Codes?) Does anyone else have any example of this "option" on their 1965 or 1966? I'm trying to find out what and how the order form and/or window sticker would look like with this rear end. Is it rare? How rare?
Thanks

According to the published '66 powertrain chart, the 3.70 non-posi was the standard axle with an L-79 and M-21; Posi was an option with that ratio, and the only other optional axle available with that combination was a 4.11 Posi. The chart shows a 3.36 non-posi as the standard axle with an L-79 and M-20, also available optionally with Posi, and the only other optional axle available with that combination was a 3.55 Posi. The same availability continued in 1967. The 3.36 non-posi was also the standard axle in both years with the base 300hp engine and M-20 (M-21 not available with the base engine).
