Does anyone have/know someone/vendor that sells orginal in the wrapper license plates or restored. I haven't made it to any major shows in the last few months and I'm now looking for a set. I'm looking for the 5 number plates. If anyone see's a set at a show could you get me the vendor's name and number. I would like to put these on the vette b/c they look so much better than the current plates..

I've been looking on line and can't find anyone that really sells plates. It appears that most of the sites are for people that actually collect license plates wether it be new or old. Thanks in advance. Dave..

Dave,

Click this link then look in the third row down. There's a logo for a company called Tags'r'Us. They are in VA and do just what you're looking for. Give 'em a call and tell them you heard about it from the Corvette Cruise-In site;) and the CAC.

Thanks I left a message and an email.. I'm a persistant little bastard..:L :L :L :L :L Any other contacts would be greatly appreciated as this is proving to be the needle in the stack of hay stacks.. Dave..

There's also a fellow that is usually hawking the old plates at the local BK cruise. I'll be at the Hershey show this weekend but next weekend I'll get his contact info and send it your way.

;stupid I've seen the guy at the Manassas cruise in as well and he does usually have some pretty decent plates. Unfortunately I gave his card away to someone who bought a set of 68 plates from him...:hb

Thanks guys.. I will hold off making any purchase's until I see if you can catch up with the guy at BK. I found one set that starts with sequence 91-xxx for $75. 75 bucks sounds a little steep but if I have to I will get those. I'm willing to pay that much just that if I can wait and get em for a little less I will.

67HEAVEN the reason I'm kinda deadset on the 5 numbers is my dad's 66 is about 500 cars earlier than mine so about 5 days and he has a set of 5 number plates on his vette starting 85-xxx. I thought it would be neat to show up with plates close to his. Just thought why not right?? Fiqures he stumbles across a rare set of plates new still in the wrapper and now I'm jumping thru hoops to follow his lead.. Dave..

Dave,

I will not be at BK this weekend but will check next weekend (7/19) and let him know what you're looking for. Don't quote me, but I don't think his prices are very high.

Thanks man.. it's not a big rush I think I can wait a little while. Thanks.. Dave..

Dave,

I spoke with the guy briefly and told him what you wanted. He said there's almost nothing he doesn't have. Lots of his plates are in unused condition, still wrapped in paper. His prices range up to $75 depending on condition an rarity.

I PM'd his phone number to you.

Thanks man.. I think this the same guy I mentioned I was waiting to hear from. I finally got in touch with him a little while ago and recieved my plates on Friday. 91-XXX they are close enough for me and are brand new never been issued. They even came in the original wrapper and had the cool letter from the Governer stating the deaths, injury's and accidents from 1965. Very Cool!! Thanks guys for the help I appreciated.. Dave

Drive it like you stole IT!!!
