It appears that there are three horn notes available for model years spanning 1967.

1955-82 "F" note
1955-82 "A" note
1965-81 "D" note

What would my '67 have come with?

(If you tell me it's in the A.I.M. I'll be embarrassed.)

Horn Notes

Per my early Corvette Parts Book, it only lists two horns for 1955 through 1970 (there is no listing for '65 up cars). My later parts book does not have the same part numbers and I do not have a cross reference, but from the data, you need to install "A" and "F" note horns. If you have the original horns, they may be stamped with the following part numbers: 9000239 (low note) and 9000011 (high note). Hope this helps!

I believe that the 9000488 (Hi note) is on the passenger side, and the 9000487 (Lo note) is on the drivers side. But I dont know if they are marked in any way, but the horn openings both point toward the middle of the car. Not that the sound waves would care! And I wont tell you where I found the info, cause you didnt want to be told where I looked.

By the way, Very Nice Corvette!!

1BAD69, I dont know if NCRS checks Corvette horn tones, but based on color, the fender and wheel configuration that 67Heaven is running, I'm not real sure that he would care if the tone was not correct, as long as they got out of his way.

So you think they might notice the change?

Hey Bob,

is that one of the things the NCRS checks for judging...you do not want to be losing points for the wrong horn tone... ;) ;)

how about one of these..my dad had one in his Galaxie 500 vert...

An aooga horn -- hey, Mike. That may be just the ticket. ;LOL

I suppose it just depends on how close you park to a NCRS Judging Area. When you are finished, I would expect a crowd at any Corvette function regardless of where you park. It will get noticed. But that's a good thing, Right?
