Has anyone have anyexperience or knowledge about mechanical tach's. :confused
I have a 68 with a mechanical tach, which works fine. I also use a shift light (msd light with a chip for rpm activation). The distributer is the original one but have a msd 6a box and msd coil.
I have noticed that the rpm reading off by about 500 rpms more then what the shift light reads. I believe that the shift light is acurate seen it is picking up the signal from the spark box.
Is this normal or is my tach just geting old and worn-out
I will be replacing the distrubuter with an MSD distributer that has tach drive setup in the near future.
Thanks
