I have a 68 vette with a 350ci/300hp motor. I cannot find anywhere that these were made. Can anyone help me? There is a sticker on the shifter console that says 350/300. I would appreciate any info.
Thanks

Hope this helps :v

Also, I don't believe that original 68 only consoles had the data tag. 68's have the crossed flag emblem where the data tag affixes. 68 was the last year of the 327. The 350 began with the 69 model year. Chuck

True, the console data tags only showed up in 69.

I wouldnt get discourged too quickly. My next door neighbor has a Chevy truck that he put on the 454 tags himself when he really has a 350 in it. When I bought my 69 convertible, I found the Model Center in the Tech Center extremely useful when I went to purchase and find out more about my vette; post purchase.
FYI- The folks here in the CAC are the most knowledgeable and friendly group I've found. Even with my sometimes, 'simple' questions, I dont mind posting since I know they will be addressed properly. There is a ton of C3 knowledge in the CAC.

Check the codes on the engine stamp pad. This will tell you what engine you have and if it is original to the car. The plate you are looking at can be bought from any catalog.

Perhaps the previous owner wanted the tag but since there was none available for 327/300 he went with the next best thing 350/300. They were after all basically the same engine.

Check out the stampings on the machined pad forward of the passenger side cylinder head and post them, and we can help you determine what engine is in the car and where it came from. Also post the block casting number (on the bellhousing flange area behind the driver's side cylinder head) and the block casting date code (same area, but behind the passenger side cylinder head) and that will narrow it down.
