Help!!!!
I am having a hard time figuring out how to locate the hole were the allen wrench goes when tightening up the linkage. Also, is coming up from underneath the best (only way) to get up to the little clips on the three linkage arms?

Does anyone have a drawing or diagram or just have the experience of how the heck is the best way to change out the linkage arms and how to find that hole to keep everything lined up.

I could sure use some help befor I tear into it.

Thanks

DonW

Don,

I did a 69 Z28 a few years back and as far as I remember, the best way to access the hole in the shift plates is by removing the boot and working from the top side.
The shift linkages have to be adjusted from under the car and are rotated until they fit to the shift linkages with all of the levers in the center position.

Pete.

Thanks Pete, I will give it a try and let you know

I think the only way is to get at it from under the car. You should be able to work around the exhaust, but it will be tight. The alignment hole is made for a 1/4" rod. I use a piece of brass stock I bent at a 90* to fit. You can access the instruction sheet by going to the Hurst web site. It is now part of the Mr Gasket,Lakewood, etc group. You should be able to find it doing a web search.

Good Luck
