It is a Transistor Ignition Module. It is mounted in front of the drivers side front tire up in the wheel well behind the lights. There is a wire that runs up the side of the engine bay to the coil. Its hard to see and not equiped on all 71's you can see it by looking in the wheel well for 3 mounting bolts.
