Hi All,

I was wondering if the correct oil pressure gauge on a 1972 350/200hp. Is it mechanical or electrical? If it is mechanical, is there a way to convert it to electrical by keeping it's original look? Would you recommend the conversion?

Thanks,

Jean

It's mechanical; why would you want to convert it to electrical?

If it's like a lot of them, probably cuz it's leaking on the radio. An easier fix is to replace the plastic tubing with copper tubing. At least it work for me and a couple of others.

I used a replacement plastic hose kit from Paragon that worked great. Just make sure the brass sleeve inside and outside the hose and the coupling nut are properly positioned.
I left the console loose and ran the car a couple of days to check for leaks inside and out, no problems.
I personally love the mechanical gauge, seems more accurate and responsive.

Good Luck

Mike
