1972 frame question

I am looking at a 72 coupe. I wanted to know if the crossmember under the passenger compartment is supposed to be removable? Looks like there are two bolts on both ends to secure it to the frame. Is this right?

If you are talking about the differential carrier, then yes.

Frames that had automatic transmissions were bolted to the frame. Standard trans frames were welded.

On an automatic car, the tranny crossmeber is removable (bolted in). On a four speed car, it welded.
