1973 4-speed Coupe FOR SALE/ SOLD!!!!
Well.....I never thought I'd sell her but when your wife tells you she's pregnant my views have changed....:D Here's my shot...

1973 Coupe
350 V8 (Originally a L48 car)
Muncie M20 4 speed

The "scoop"

Interior:
Interior is a 8 out of 10. The seats were recovered in the original pattern by an Amish Upholstery shop (Yes they had no electricity...true Amish :) )
Center console, gauge cluster, speedo, tach, dash pad, carpet is all excellent conditon. Storage bins are shabby but not the doors. Rubber vette floor mats. Clock works. Aftermarket Kenwood shaft radio :ugh . No cracks in dash pad. Cig lighter actually works. No AC car. No tilt. Astro vent glass. Owners manual. Warranty manual.

Body:
Body is in great shape. Very solid. Paint ia approx 15 years old. It is a true 5 to 10 footer. When you get up close you can see it needs a new paint job but even still as long as I have owned her Ive not done it cause it still looks great even up close. Trim code is 914 (Silver, prior owner painted Mille Miglia Red nice complete job) Bonding strips are all excellent. No cracks. Nosepiece DOES need replaced although it is NOT cracke just the paint is cracked as usual. Birdcage is strong. Some rust up near the top of the windshield but from waht I can tell it is very strong.

Engine:
Ok...here it goes...
39000710 Block...original block although when it was rebuilt and decked the pad numbers got shaved. Original crank and rods.

Very, very nice car and the build sounds really sweet. Wish I was in the market...it'll be a few more months. Best of luck with your sale.

Bump for a nice car.

Cheers,

Joe

sweet

Rob, my compliments on the car, a very nice '73 (my favourite year)! I am also in preliminary stages when it comes to buying my 1st 'Vette - my timeframe to buy is spring/summer '07 so it's a bit early for me now. I hope it goes to a good owner.

Cheers,
Eugene
:D :beer :upthumbs

Thanks to everyone for their intrest in the girl. BUT!!!!! After careful thought my wife and I decided not to sell her. (YEAH!!!) Even with our first baby on the way we decided it wasn't worth it, since I got the car from my grandfather, once its gone its gone so we are not selling her anymore.

:_rock

Have a good holiday season all !!!

A man who has come to his senses. You won't regret it. Best of all, the wife was part of the decision. She must be smart woman as well. A vette can very well be just a material thing, but there are many classics out there that are so much of people's lives, they become a part of who you are. Best of luck to the new family.

Rob smart move, especially since the car has a history with your family. I wish I had my first Vette back, now I would not be able to afford one like it.

Its not a Vette but Craig jr has an Escort wagon that was his Grandfathers when he passed away I just got done replacing the head on it; even with me doing the work it was @ $400 on a $150 car ;LOL But its a good little car for a teen and it runs great now. That car and a Shotgun are the only things we have of my Wifes Stepfathers which is probably why she wanted it fixed. Did I ever say how much I hate working on Fords.:eyerole

I agree guys...I told my wife that if we sold her we'd have the cash but 5 or so years later I would need another 5 to 10k cash plus to get another one, without all the history and time and effort Ive put into her....:beer

Plus I love the winter when I walk out into the garage and see her under cover sleeping...lol

Enjoy KEEPING your '73; my favorite year (visually) of the C3s as it is really closest to the original C3 design intent. Looks nice; take care of her and with the obvious "garage appeal" (as Peter Egan terms it...) how can you miss?! I don't cover my C5 just because I enjoy looking at her in the garage! Regards, DFO :D
