1976 Aluminum Rims

I have noticed that some 1976 L-82s rim centers are black. The brochure shows that as well....were those painted or an insert? If they were painted can some one suggest a paint and technique that is NCRS approved?

I know one of the guys from another forum that will redo his centers everso often. The centers of the wheels are painted. He uses a regular size coffee can you buy in the store..fits perfect and shoot the paint in there and the centers are done...nice and clean supposedly..have seen pics and they look nice. Joe!

I think the guy was Canadian, and claimed the coffee-can had a metric-diameter, too.....

Krylon Semi-Flat black and the coffee can works like a charm. I used a pair of snips to make cuts on one side of the can and bent them out so I could have more room to move the spray can around.
