I had my 1976 vette converted to a removable rear window today. Rainbow Glass, up in Roselle, IL. They have done 100's of them. I have all new parts. I get a call from them, they were fighting with it over 6 hours and it is gonna leak very bad. The window is basically jammed in, and you play hell getting it out. They don't understand it. The window frame is great, all new parts. You can even see on the passenger side that the frame is rubbing with the upper panel. They say the window needs to drop down more, it won't They even took the bushings out, and it still doesn't. Drivers side fits great. WTF. They don't understand it and want to take it to the body shop to check for frame damage. There is NO damage, I KNOW that. Plus, it's not like it is a metal car where everything would get twisted if it were damaged...

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated it. I am about to completely lose it over here.

The word they used was the window was not seeting. They can't get the window to seet.

hello, i have a removable in my 74. it took a good lick when the wheel studs sheared off going 50+. busted the fender and shook the car bad,but my window is still straight.
i would ask if the receptacles in the lower window valance are exactly right position. the window has tapered mounting tabs that must fit exact.if they are off even an 1/8th of an inch the window won't seat..
i am suspect of anyone who tries to 'palm-off' a job to another shop.
