Good Evening from Denver Colorado,

Well I am so excited I just can't wait. My 1980 L82 will be here this coming Wednesday. I had it transported from Clearwater, Florida to Centennial, Colorado in an enclosed transport.

This is my question??
It has a Rebuilt Rochester Quadrajet Carburator, will I have to adjust it being I live in the mile high state? If so what has to be done? Maybe somebody that lives near me can help me out, I would really appreciated.:) :cool

This will be my first Corvette:beer

Thank You so much

Tom

Welcome!!!

Hey Tom, welcome to the CAC. I can't help with your carb question, though I am sure someone here will.
Congrats on your first vette. If you're like I was you'll be opening up the garage
door just to look at it for the first few weeks. Good luck. Bud peace :w

carbs are jetted for sea level. you need to reduce the AREA of the jetting 2% for every 1500 ft you are above sea level

Snake,
I have the Delco-Rochester manuals that show the metering rods and jetting your car was equipped with originally. This will keep you from having to disassemble the carb prior to replacement of the parts. So let me know if I can be of help.
One other suggestion. If you open up the carb, replace the float. Q-jet floats are the achilles heal of the carb.
Mike
