1980 Lg4

i'm looking for an info on LG4's, specificly the heads. i have a set of heads i was told came form an LG4 . they have the number 14022601 stamped on them. until now the only info i've found so far is that the LG4 was 305/180hp model that was produced for california. any info would be greatly appriciated

14022601's were used on lots of 305 passenger cars, but not on Corvettes; the 1980 Corvette LG4 used #14014416 heads, with small 1.72/1.50 valves - same as the old 283's used.

According to "Corvette Restoration Guide 1968-1982" by Richard Prince, the casting number for the cylinder heads on a 1980 LG4 California 305 is 14914416.

The only other thing the book says about heads is that all 78-82 heads were cast-iron and painted engine color, which was GM "Corporate Blue" for all but a few 82's.

thanks johnz and vrgsvet.

my brother found out today , throught a gm dealer, that these head are normal 305 heads.

i'm glad i found this great site. i know it will be very usefull to me as i am going to be doing a lot of work on my 76.

thanks again
