I was going down the interstate the other day and the metal trim above my windshield just blew off. Where can I get one of these? also, it wasn't put on right or it wouldn't have came off. Just got this car not long ago as some of you know. I have been busy fixing all sorts of bugs on this car. I know nothing about windshields or body work. I see some tabs and some do not look complete. (broken) Does the windshield come out to fix this?
Any help is appreciated!

Hi. Are you talking about the large stainless header trim that sits on top of the windshield frame or the trim that sits in front of that on to the windshield itself? If it's the small one (or the other actually) I have seen them on ebay off wrecked cars. I may be wrong but through my own experience I don't think those trim parts are available anymore. The small trim part is held on with I think.. 6 clips that are screwed to the front of the windshield frame. those clips need to be fitted before the windshield goes in as the screws are close to the top of the windshield and you could crack it with the screw driver. Possibly those clips taken off and not put back on by someone;shrug in which case all that would be holding it would be the ends and where it sits on the header panel...... sorry to be the bearer of bad news.... I'm sure someone else will have somethind to add....good luck:thumb:thumb

Yes, its the small trim on the top by the windshield. Didnt know if it was available aftermarket or not.

GM in there wisdom destroyed all the tooling for those parts so i've been told.:bash Anyway,, all the clips are available through Ecklers etc so no prob there:thumb:thumb You could try asking through the forum for the trim or maybe ebay.. Hope thats been some help:):)
