1981 Speedometer Alternative

My father-in-law called me regarding a repalcement factory look-a-like speedometer for his 81 with a higher than 85 mph face plate. I usually hang out with the C-2 guys but I told him I would pose a question here. Is there any available? Might an earlier year unit work? I am not real familiar with the specific year changes so, please don't beat me up too badly. Any help would be appreciated.
