Found that by going thru fuses, the courtesy fuse put the test light out, so short should be in that area, anyone have any experience with what to look for first when trying to trace out problem.....

1st Welcome to CAC!!
2nd do you have an owners manual or factory service manual???
It should be able to tell you what circuits it powers,so you will know where to start to look for the short.
on my 81 they are for clock,lighter,(I use it for siriusxm power)courtesy,anti-theft alarm,glove box,dome,power ant.horn relay,power locks.
I would think that the 82 should be close to the 81 for circuits.
