Hello!

I just recently sold my 1982 Corvette, and the new owner reports that there was an alarm on it, that is going off, that they can't shutt off? They were pretty excited, so I don't know what they tried, but does anybody know any information about this? I didn't know the car had one on it, and wouldn't know how it's triggered or shut off. It was shipped using DAS< so I'd imagine the battery was disconnected at some point. Please let me know when you can. Thanks!

Grant,

If it is the factory alarm, then use the key in the drivers door to turn it off. (FYI)The 81 & 82 also had the ignition interrupt relay.

Thanks. I'm relaying all the information I can to the guy. I hope he's sharp enough to have tried the key, I can't get ahold of him right now, though.
What is ignition interrupt relay, btw? And thanks for your help :)

My 81 Shop Manual only shows the "Starter Interrup Relay" which is mounted on the "Console trim Plate", which is located in the center console just forward of the gear shift lever. Gain access by removing the carpeted panel on the passenger side of the center console. The manual list two trouble check points on a system self activation: On manual door lock cars; check for open circuit #295 at the control module ( grey wire at pin "G"). 2nd check for "Too close adjustment of door jamb switches". The "Control Module" is mounted on the rear side of the "Lock Pillar Support". Hope this is helpful!

Awesome. I have yet to hear from the person it was sold to, but I do beleive this might be what was needed. Thank you!!
