1985 c4 horn streering wire

Hi, has anyone ever replaced the horn wire tower in a steering wheel on a 1985 c4 corvette. I need to replace this part to get the horn to work. The top has broken off. Hopefully without taking the wheel off. Any help would be very appreciated. Thanks. Bill

I had the whole thing apart, but you only need remove, probably,the horn button.

The wire clips onto the horn button and half-twists into place. It is readily available from the usual sources.

The FSM calls for a couple of 1/4" sticks, used as spacers in the horn button assembly, when snapping it back on. Strange, but it works well.
