1985 Window Problem

The passenger side window on my 1985 will raise about only 1/3 of the way. I was able to grab the glass and slide it to the raised position, but when released it slides back to the 1/3 raised position. I am able to lower it with the switch but raise it about only 1/3 of the way. Any repair suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

I've owned the car since 1992 and recently turned 120k on the odometer.

Upon removing the door panel, I discovered the plastic gear strip had broken. Replaced the strip and the window is working fine now.

I had the same exact problem on my '85 Corvette. It was even the same window, same issue.... the ribbon got stripped out with age. Not really a fun task to replace either. Glad it's working great now
