I seem to be missing the vacuum reserve tank that is usually found up in the left front of the engine compartment near the canister purge tank and the horn; the vacuum line for the cruise is teed right under the master cylinder area, and one end goes to this vacuum reserve tank; if this tee has been plugged, which it has, will the cruise still work? It is currently not working now; who knows what the previous owner did with the original tank; also, if someone can snap a pic of exactly where it mounts up front, that would help a lot, and if anyone has a used one they would be interested in selling, send me a PM and maybe we can work out a deal..........

Thanks, Chris

*Update* - I was able to pick-up a new vacuum reserve ball and check valve from Eckler's for under $25 bucks, and now the cruise control is working properly; not sure if the cruise system needed that extra reserve vacuum to operate correctly, or if it was a bad check valve; either way, it is working now, so I'm all set............

the cruise system needed that extra reserve vacuum to operate correctly.
I believe that is true, from experience with another car. :w

this is an 84 but should be the sameView attachment 13497

Doug: Thanks for the pic; yes, I have it resting in there for now; all I need is the 2 bolts and 2 mounting clips (that actually are on the vacumm tank tabs) to secure it in properly, and I'll be all set.......

Whale: I was hoping it was something this simple instead of having to perform further diagnosis and possibly replace additional parts......
