I have a 1988 convertible for sale. It is a theft recovery with a salvage title in central California. Triple black.
It had the interior stolen. (seats, door panels, stereo) I have purchased seats that need recovering, good used door panels and speakers. New ignition has been installed and the Computer with EPROM still in the box is ready to be installed. Most of the work to complete this project consists of interior upholstery work.
The wiring was damaged by incompetent thieves. I have replaced the main harness, the ignition and computer but still needs some work to finish. Front and rear bumpers have been replaced. (with 96 vintage) There is a small amount of hanger rash on the rear bumper. Body is in good shape but will need paint to bring it back to looking great.
The car has less than 60K miles according to original owner. (salvage title does not certify mileage and I have no 1st hand knowledge but based on my examination it appears about right.) I have a new MAF and replacement air cleaner assemby. Other than installing these and connecting a few plugs from the wiring harness little additional work is needed under the hood.
The top is in good condition except a small area near the top of the window on drivers side where the bead has been frayed.
Tires and wheels have been replaced with used but servicable tires and correct wheels. I have been asking $6500 but must sell as I have bought another project and can't keep both. I will include both original GM service manuals and some additional parts.
I have found NO evidence of any body damage.
I can send a few pics that were taken in my garage with poor lighting and much dust. I recommend that anyone interested come look at the car or have someone come look at it for them. I am a federal judge, not an expert mechanic and while my description is an honest attempt to describe the car it should not be considered as any kind of guarantee.
