Chris's magazine article on the 400+hp car reminded me of an "article" I had on the Callaway top speed. This is from the August issue of Automobile. You can read the letter from a Callaway rep, and see the accompanying chart. Let me know if it's not readable:

And the real reason a 13 year old me would have bought this issue:

I do not have the May 1988 issue that apparently had a Callaway test drive, though I bet several of you do. :)

Bob, I have the Sundae Drive article - maybe we could trade a scan/for a scan??

Good stuff indeed - very Miami-Vice'ish flavor to the article :cool

You've got PM. Heheh, I wondered if you'd have this since it's not actually really a Callaway issue. Now you'll have to go and get follow-up issues, 1-2 months past all the Callaway issues you have, to check the letters sections!:W

AHHH!!! What a tease!!! Yeah, I'm going to try to make it to Chik Fil A tomorrow. The weather should be nice and cool.

That yellow aerobody is soooo cool looking. I still love to flip through my Road & Track Corvette special edition from 1991 and read their "hyperbole express" article. That car is stunning.

Bob, sorry I did not make Chick-Fil-a last night... I saw a lot of traffic and said forgetaboutit... At any rate, next weekend is the supposed HUGE show in Richmond (Dinwiddie), VA @ Virginia Motorsports Park and Callaway Cars is heading down for this - I plan on running my Callaway there - are you heading down for that??

Hmm, I'll have to see. I hadn't really thought about it. Sounds fun, though.

There were a few Corvettes last night, a red '89 and a few C5's. A black '88-89 convertible was pulling in as I was leaving. I only stuck around for about 30 minutes or so, I didn't want to drive home in the dark.
