1990 air bag light always on

This is very common on the 1990. You have two impact sensors on the front frame rails, they have lost their ground with the frame due to corrosion. They need to be removed, sanded, and re-grounded with dielectric grease. There is a procedure for resetting the code but I don't remember where I saw it, perhaps you could do a web search, sorry.

Pulling the codes might pinpoint the problem area.

NB;if you have a bad enough fault in the SIR (airbag ) system,the CCM will prevent the engine starting
