1995 Power Antennae troubleshooting.

The power antenna stopped working last night, right after I finished the door panel repair . Gotta love it

I have the preliminary FSM with the troubleshooting chart for the antenna, but I still have a few questions.

The car is a 1995 Convertible.

How do I get to the motor and the plug to troubleshoot ? Through the tailights ? Or from underneath ? Secret panel under the carpet ?

it seems well hidden from looking at the outside. Any tips on repairs ?

I only hear a click from the back of the car, no motor noises when its supposed to be activated.

The exact same problem with my 91. Suddenly the antenna refused to go up.
Then when I started driving out of nope it came up, (me think, loose cable or corroded some where).
Took off left rear wheel and inner shield, saw a ground wire connected to the antenna.
Cleaned it, and just for fun, switched on the radio while I had the ground wire off, guess what, radio played but no radio.
So I guess that that wire was the ground wire for radio reception.
The ground wire for the motor must be on the backside off the motor.
I don´t recall, but i´ve read somewhere that you can remove the rear license plate and from there reach to the left rear light assembly, or go from underneath, but that depends on what kind of mufflers you have perhaps.

While engine on and radio on, I tapped slightly on the rear side where the antenna is, two or three times and the antenna came up.

99.999999999% sure it´s a loose or corroded ground wire (connection).

Haven´t been able to find an easy fix yet.

thanks. Strangely enough, it started working again.

Its a good thing because it must be a witch to put another one on.:ugh
