I have a 1996 Collector Edition Corvette Convertible with Lumbar Troubles! I have taken the pump out from under the seat...it runs when there is no load on it just fine...as soon as I put it back in the car and connect everything...then it doesn't want to run anymore. Does anyone have an idea of what I have going on??? To me it just seems that the motor is weak...and from what I have seen out there no one carries these pumps...GM doesn't have them...Ecklers and Mid America have 1984 to 1993 aftermarket versions for sale...but no one has the 1994-1996 like I need!

If anyone out there can give me some advice...Please do...As I need Help!

Thank You,
EJN

Hi and welcome to the forum. You could contact Jason at Vette2vette.com. His number is 815-673-6200. I have bought many parts from him. He takes Vettes apart and bins even the tiniest of parts and sells them on the web. Here is his URL. He is honest and prompt.

Best regards,

Had a similiar problem & tracked it down to the electrical connections at the module. fiddled with the wires & it started to work. The wife sat in the seat & it stopped. Apparently the seat cushion puts pressure on that connection & it fails until the pressure is relieved.

No! She only weighs 120#s. Took the pump apart & was surprized to find no bladder, just vanes on the end of the pump shaft, seems they operate by centrifugal force.

I would try repositioning the wires, maybe you'll luck out. My pump sounds great with the hose disconnected & a little weak when connected. Guess it takes some of it's power to supply the bladders, etc.

1996: I have the same problem. it will run with no load.
also, what are those white connectors for under the seats ?
each seat has a white connector going NO WHERE ?!?

I'll be picking up my 95 in a couple of days. If you don't have an answer by then I'll take a look.
