The title pretty much explains it. My a/c works great and all the buttons and switches do what they should do. However, my heater does not blow hot air. Suggestions?

Are you saying that the fan is working in both heat and A/C modes but the air coming out of the vents when set to Heat is not hot (warm) or are you saying that nothing comes out the vents when set to Heat?

Yeah, sorry....the fan is working properly but the air coming out is not warm at all.

If you have the heater control valve under the hood near the core, check that to see if its operating. Thats a vac operated valve in the heater hose near the evaporator/heater core inlets. I am not positive if the LT has that or not. L98 does.
Next would be to feel the heater hoses to see if both were warm. That might tell you if the problem is a vent mix door inside, and if the water is circulating thru the system. And last, if you have elec a/c control, run the heat up to 90,. which overrides the temp sensors and goes to full heat thru the blend door.
One of these "test" should help point to the reason why...

In addition, after reading the other thread and noticing that your old coolant was really bad, there is the possibility that the heater core is partially plugged or the control valve. Make certain that the car has a thermostat also. Those temps seem too LOW for this time of year,. A normal motor would want to run closer to 210 and even higher at a stop lite. Cruising it should be somewhere over 200 at least. 185 is a good normal temp when the snow is 2 ft deep. These cars run hot. 230 in a hot humid climate is not unusual. I just spent lots of money on a radiator and other enhancements and mine is down to 200 cruising and I'm thrilled.
If its operating temp is as low as you say while moving, a missing thermostat might cause that,. No stat will also prevent the system from pushing water to the heater hoses. Its easier to just circulate thru the block and radiator where the big hoses are. it takes some resistance (thermostat) somewhere to make the coolant flow thru the smaller heater hoses.

Thanks. I'm afraid I'm not understanding any of what you are saying, and that's my fault. Maybe I should just take it in.

John454, I think this relates to your other post on refilling the cooling system. I think you have too little coolant and/or a major air pocket. I would not drive the car again until this is resolved. You should have good heat if you have enough coolant in the car and no air pockets. When I refill a cooling system and fire the car heat from the vents is one of the things I look for, if I do not have it I have a problem.

That being said if you have a plugged heater core or some other issue this too maybe be contributing to your lack of heat.

Considering you just drained and filled your system and only got 2.5 gals back in you better check for coolant level and for air pockets.
