Was wondering....what are the differences in the regular non Z06 c5 vettes....

1997?
1998?
1999?
2000?
2001?
2002?

just trying to get a better understanding and cost wise to what will fit my budget and preferences the best....

thanks
jeff

Hi there,
Well, differences in c5 are substantial from 97 to 2000.
There is constant refinement and improvement in c5, and Corvette engineering takes this VERY seriously.
I can go down the line, however, I would recommend something newer than 98 in the coupe version, or 99 in the convertible models.
Also, a sidebar, convertible will handle just as well as coupe. It is nothing like the c4 body structure, so you can be rest assured that you will not see body flex half as bad as the c4 designation.

umm why no go on a 98?

was curious as to why you said later on a 1998? something bad I should know bout?

thanks
jeff

98 convertible was tough on waterleakage issues, as it was the first year.
97 was the first year for c5, and there was alot of learning going on about the design, and there was a few vendor supply issues, that were resolved.
