1st Vette, have questions....

Hello, all. I just bought my first vette and have a few questions about the car.

First, the car is a red '89 coupe with 65k miles. It has an L98 w/ A4 tranny. I paid 8,000. I ran a Carfax and everything appears good. Please take a look at the pics on my website and tell me what you think (good or bad).

Questions:

1. Did the '89s come with factory keyless entry and alarm?

I have no transmitter, but I can set the horn off by leaving the hatch open, locking and closing the doors, and then closing the hatch (discovered by accident). I also have a flashing "Security" indicator on the dash. If it does have factory keyless entry/alarm, does anyone know if an aftermarket programable transmitter is available anywhere?

2. The front of my air filter cover has been cut out. Is this some type of performance mod? I'm a long time f-body owner and I've seen people do this with Camaros and Firebirds. What kind of performance gain does it provide on a C4?

3. My Climate Control freaks out by displaying random images and flashing lights. The A/C continues to work perfectly, but you can't adjust the temp or fan speed. Is this common?

4. Power seat does not move forward/back. All other controls work. Is there a fix for this other than replacement?

1. pass key didn't come out til 93 or so .......
2. opening up the air box helps...........
3.big ouch........here. had to have this done on my 89' $$$
4.little ouch as ouches go.....

items 3 and 4 are your local chevy dealer time, and for the life of me I can't remember the electronic a/c control price...........but it was several hundred.....the seat motor is gone unless you have something wedged in there. You didn't mention whether it makes noise.....oh well the dealer will tell you straight...

i liked my 89' a whole bunch and except for the glass top it was identical in color/trim to yours........pics look nice
