My 2001 z06 goes through oil at about 1 qt per 1500 miles. I do have the oily residue on the tail pipes and have about 19,000 miles on the car now.Warranty is up.
I just finished installing a Vortech Blower kit over the winter and when I pulled the plugs to put in the new ones they were wet with oil residue as well.
The car seems to run fine and has no lack of power but the oil issue is a bit concerning now that I have the blower on the car. I have yet to get into boost with it yet as its winter in Canada and I only have taken it out on a light drive to make sure I installed the blower correctly and to check for any leaks which was fine.
Do you think the blower will make this issue worse? Is there any real ill effects to this issue if you keep the oil levels in check? I have yet to replace the oil valley cover and its something I will do going forward but I just want to know if this ring seating issue is going to be a major problem going forward or not.
I had asked a Chev mechanic thats a personal friend and he thought that it probably won't be a significant issue other than keeping on top of the oil levels.
Thanks for any help and take care

Drew,
I'm sure others will join in and offer some advice, too. The oil consumption issues are fairly well known in 2001 Z06s. I'm not convinced that the addition of a blower will do much to either help or hurt that oil consumption.

Thanks Guys

I am farmiliar with the reasons why it might be using oil but am wondering if I just leave it as is will hit cause anymore harm or not. The re-ring has not been done on my car and it is out of warrenty. I just want to get as many seasons out of the car before performing a rebuild. let me know what ya think :)

Thanks everyone !
