Sorry if it has already been posted, but has anyone heard anything as far as changes in regards to the 2006 C6.

I know of the 2006 automatic going to a 6 speed and of course the first year always has a few "bugs" so to speak of...

Aything...anyone???

Michael

Heard that GM intends to build C6's several months longer than in a normal model year thus delaying the first build and ship of the '06. Don't know why other than perhaps to synchronize the availability and build of the base '06 with the Z06. Perhaps the base car will be picking up some of the changes present on the Z06 such as the steering wheel. I am hoping, if this report is true, that GM needs the extra time to make a number of changes to the '05. Who knows?

Mike is it the auto six speed paddle shifter?

Yes the six speed automatic is a manumatic paddle shifter...(with a traditional torque convertor)

The six speed automatic will accelerate .09tenths of a second faster than a six speed manual tranny car even when the manual is driven by a professional driver.

Definitely a good choice for those who don't like to shift themselves all the time. ie. traffic/or better half can't drive stick. IMHO...

thanks that is what I was hopeing for.

The word on the street is that Mag. Red and M. Yellow are being replaced for 2006. There will supposedly be a candy apple red and some other modified shade of yellow.
I was planning on an 06 C6 in Mag. Red, but will have to wait until the new color choices appear.

I'd sure like to see a nice medium green for the C6-perhaps metallic. Being an old goat I recall colors like "British Racing Green" and "Goodwood Green" in older vettes and camaros. I think the C6 would bed so sharp in green with the black accents. Also, an extra few hp would be nice. Like maybe 6-or even 5 1/2 Then perhaps we'd stop hearing all the bleating about how the new C6 is "almost" as powerful as the C5 Z06. Those who cannot get it through their heads that a Z51 C6 BEATS the old Z06 fail to mention when the torque comes on in the new 400 hp engine. The old Z06 engine has found a staid retirement in the Cadillac CTS-V complete with a gas guzzler tax. I guess the "attends" crowd needs some power too.

HI there,
The refinements will be many, that is for sure.
6L80-E automatic information is already in GM service information.
Z, of course, but the fact is that the improvements of the c6 will continue.
I would speculate a little change to the suspension of Z51.
Convertible changes to the tops later on in 2005 production.

There will be plenty, I am sure.

Allthebest, c4c5

Looks as if the 2006 C6 will not commence production until September 9th. Don't know exactly when orders will open up though.

Thanks, based upon production of the '06 beginnning on 9/9 when might we expect changes/options/prices etc to be released for the new model year?
