2006 Vert Monterey Red
After going through some setbacks on my order for a 2005 C6 (restrictions, etc)I cancelled that order and placed a new order for a 2006 C6 Vert and got my build date (Sept 12) from the Dealer. The wait has been worthwhile I get the new sixspeed auto trans and steering wheel shifter. Also get the interior and top colors I want. The only thing I have to change is the Mag Red to Monteray Red.
We shall see how that comes out .

Congratulations - sounds like my 06 TPW Sep. 5. Mont. Red vert with auto tranny, cashmere interior nd beige top. The wait will be worthwhile. I am expecting museum delivery before the end of Sept. or early in Oct

I thought about museum delivery but getting an airline flight to BG might cause problems. I was also told that I still had to pay the dealer delivery charge plus the museum delivery. This will also give me an opportunity to visit with my daughter in the Chicagoland area. I bought the car up North because the corvette dealers in Florida add a Market Adjustment of between $3K to $5K to MSRP price. They still sell cars down here just like they did after WW ll "Pay my price or go scratch" Also, the dealers get very few allocations. I am hoping to get my delivery date this week.

That transportation charge per the folk at the Museum is because of the Union. No matter where you pick the car up, the charge is the same even though the car is just delivered to the Museum just across the street from the plant.

Now I know how GM funds part of the employee benefit package. Thanks

I will say, however, that the Museum pickup was worth every penny. I drive a friend up to get his 05 Vert and we spent from 7:45 am until after 4:00 pm there and at the production facility. The guide was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I know I learned a lot and had a great time. Take a candy bar or something because we had no chance for lunch!! :bar

I bet Museum delivery was great. I have been to the Museum two times and enjoyed the visits. I am waiting for my Vin number and hope to get a dealer delivery date so I can arrange airline flight for pickup. Also looking forward to visit with Daughter and family in Chicagoland. It has been a long wait. Thanks Marlar
