I called my service rep today regarding the TSB for the creaking roof issue. He initially said he would have to verify the issue before GM would let him order a part. After reviewing the TSB he called me back and told me he has it ordered (I believe both latch assemblies).

He said that the part is back-ordered nation-wide. I am not the only one asking for the fix.:D

what is the TSB number for this? noticing creak on my week-old coupe

thanks - found it here and called my dealer - have appointment for Thursday morning

just checked parts department at dealer - handles are in the system but no depot has any in stock - so, will wait for dealer to call when handles come in and will have the new handles installed

What are the symptons for this problem, going to the dealer tonight and if I need to get in line for these parts might as well do it tonight.

Poping/creaking noises from the front latches and/or the rear posts and guides. There are numerous threads on this forum and nearly every other corvette forum. You will find several here at Corvette Action Center, also Corvette Forum, and CorvetteMechanic. c4c5specialist (our guardian angel) posted the entire TSB at www.corvettemechanic.com under "Recalls - Campaigns - Bulletins". :upthumbs

Rick :wAlways Wave!

Just called the dealer and the parts are still not in.:eyerole

called my dealer yesterday - no parts are in the system at any depot - dealer didn't know when they were going to be available

My dealer service department called today and said the roof parts are in! I will try to have them put on tomorrow along with one of my three free oil changes.

I'll let you know if the fix works.:thumb

looks like I call my dealer in the morning and see what's up with my parts

Ok, the new parts are on. The roof creaked on the way to the dealer but not after the fix. It was a short drive though so I'll wait and see.
Part numbers:

Right: PART#: 19206592
Left: PART# 19206591

If there is any interest I can post photos of the new parts.:thumb

talked to my dealer parts department and they say parts are still on order and not in the parts system! told them folks were getting the parts installed today and they insist not possible!!!!! parts are not yet available!!!

I have my clear roof on for 6 months now and no problems! - is it also found on the solid tops?? I am putting that on end of next month for winter - man I had a ton of issues with my C5 top - thought they fixed it on the 08 C6! bummer

Give him the part numbers that I posted above. I have no more popping! Finally! If he is still not convinced I'll scan the service receipt and post it for you.:upthumbs

believe those were the part #s listed in the TSB and also believe those are the parts that are on order under my name - what they are saying is they don't see those part #s as available in the parts system

What is odd to me is that I called my service department last week and Paul told me the same thing - no parts in the system. Based on what he saw he could not even estimate when the parts would be in. I was in Chicago Monday for a meeting and that afternoon I had a message from Paul that my parts were in.

Two days so far and no creaking.:D

glad to hear it "appears" to have fixed the problem - am hoping I have similar good luck with my parts department - will give them the rest of this week and then call again early next week

Still no noise. Maybe it really is fixed.:w

just got the call from my dealer the "new" latches are in - will have them installed this afternoon - also, plan on having them check for the AIR BAG coming on during my ACE "Toys for Tots" run
