245/50/16 Tires on a 87 ?

Just bought 4 255/50/ZR16 B.F. Goodrich tires at Sam's Club for a total of $510.00. Had to order them on line and sent to store. Took about 4 days.

245's will work, when I bought my 85 on ebay it had 245's on it. They look the same but don't buldge out the sides as much, but one bonus is you can really light them up, it makes your car feel more powerful.

Another alternative is the Dunlop 255/50ZR16. Unfortunately, as they are a top-quality, ultra-performance tire--as opposed to the lower-quality, but price-leading Falken--you'll never find them for 94 bucks each.

I've been keeping a sort of blog on my experience with these tires at:

Lastly, on using the Camaro Z28 tire, the 245/50, one thing no one's mentioned is that the 245 is smaller in diameter so, if you use them, your speedometer will be in error.

Right! Good point. Actual differences can be calculated here: http://www.dakota-truck.net/TIRECALC/tirecalc.html

Just compare tire A and B and it will spit out speedo variance

With stock tire size speedo will read 66 mph but you will be going 65mph. Granted, not a huge deal but interesting when being stalked.
