*3.15 to 3.42 ... with 3200 stall
*3.15 just with 3200 stall
*3.15 to 3.73 with 3200 stall
*3.15 to 3.73 with stock converter
*3.15 to 3.73 with 2800 stall

please i need you heelp ...

is the 3.73 make top speed lose'n ...and i can't drive the car in highway ...is my to speed just will be 160 mh ????

3.42 is fine all the way around, as your auto trans has a strong first gear.

The 3.7+ ratio will just burn more gas, and you will be so low in first that it will just spin the tires up.

Your stall is fine, but a 2800 would be the most I would push it unless you had such a radical engine that it would not idle or run with any drag at low RPM.

Good advice! I was looking to up my gears as well but everyone on CF was recomending 3.73s. I think I'll go with the 3.42s. :beer

3.42's and Pro Torque 2900 is what I'm running. Lots of fun..
I started with 2.73 then got 3.15 and the torque convertor. Then just 2 weeks ago put in the 3.42's

I would highly recommend the 3.42 & 2800 TC. It's a great streetable set up. You'll have big traction problems with the 3.73s, unless you switch to stickier non-runflat tires.

i'm look'n for more power but ...without los'n normal drive ...

my gear end is 3.15 ...so i'll keep it ..i think from 3.15 to 3.42 not big gaine ... so i'll add pro torque converter ..

the pro torque converter make 0.6 sec in 1/4 mile ..and 24 hp on tire ...and it's streetable ..

that's what i'mgonna do ... cauz i'm not racing ..just play in weekend with friend

I'm sure you will be very pleased with the 3:15 rear gears and the pro torque 2400. Its a nice combo.

Just an fyi...a lot guys end up a year down the road changing to the Yank 3500 with 1.6 str and the 3.42 gears.

When I had my 99 C5 A4..I seriously was going to do a torque convertor and after driving them all. (and looking for great civility and awesome roll on performance) I'd just suggest that you consider before you do the 3.15 and protorque 2400 .. you just think about the yank 3500 1.6 str and a 3.42

Lots of friends who went this route are raving about it.

Its such a streetable package..I actually think its smoother than the stock vette and more lexus like.

I do believe a lot of guys put in the transgo kit at the same time so they could feel the shift bang gears on foot the floor acceleration.

The only down side to going to the 3.42 vs. just doing the protorque 2400 w/ the 3.15's is you would have to reprogram the computer ..(which where you are located might be a pain in the neck)

Good luck and both packages being discussed are great street applications.

BTw..Since I'm putting in 3.73 gears this coming week with C4C5 Shop doing the work. I will have 3.42 Z06 shot gears available to anyone who wants them. ($425)

They are in what I would consider in great shape. C4C5 is going to drive my car and he has in the past. I would imagine he could state the apparent excellent condition. (To the gentlemen who lives part time in Ma. whose considering 3.42's if the timing is right, these 3.42's out of my Z06 would be a good choice for you and the car and the gears will be in conn. this monday)

I believe the shipping weight is approximately 75 lbs I took the 3.73's from a friend who had just upgraded to 4.10's and he just had the 3.73's sitting in his basement. I'd like to avoid shipping hassles and meet in person if possible but would ship them,

I'm doing the Z06 2004 shocks this coming week at the Corvette shop and figured might as well put the rear gears my friend had in his basement at the same time. (rhe automotive press gave these sachs shocks such a raving review, I just had to give it a shot)
