3.73 gears have arrived

Well UPS delivered the 3.73 differential today! The guy I bought it from said I would be impressed with the package job! Well he was not kidding it was wrapped six times in a very strong plastic wrap and then foamed into a cardboard box, with cardboard pieces added to add structural integerty, I dam near had a heart attack trying to pry, cut, saw it out of its container took 1/2 hr. He used that Great Stuff foam to foam it into the box, so if any of you folks ever have to ship a rear or other similar item, you might want to try this method!

3.73 Gears

Hi: I'm new to this page. I am in the process of researching 3.73 Gears. I have a Dana 33 and am looking at getting a Dana 44 with gears. Any ideas where I should look?

I bought my differential from a vendor, they double boxed it and threw a ton of packing material in. Arrived just fine. the foam is a good idea though.

3.73 gear in and running

Well I must be truthful I am a little disappointed in the performance of the 3.73 There is a noticable difference from the 3.07 but I was hopeing for some real slam you in the seat type performance, like when I installed the Nitrous. I have not used the juice on her yet but that will happen friday nite at test and tune. Maybe it just needs to be fine tuned with the HPP programer, but in any case we will find out on friday nite.

3.73 gear upgrade

I am becoming more impressed with the rear now that I have changed the shift points and adjusted the rev limiters. Car pulls hard out of the hole and burns rubber on the shift from 1st to 2nd quite well, without the Nitrous! So when I get a chance to try the juice out I am sure I will be in for a wild ride! I am running Nitto Drag radials with 21 lbs of air.
