GUys,

I'm trying to decide on the compression ratio for my 383 build. Choices from the builder are 10.4, 11.2 and 11.8... 11.8 is to high for sure but I can't decide between the 10.4 and the 11.2 There is a .8 difference which would give me about 15 to 20HP (flywheel) by going with the 11.2 over the 10.4. CAM is the GM847 with CNC LT4 heads.

thanks
robert

Tough call on the Compression. I would almost suggest the 10.4 compression for the street, but then the ZR1 was close to 11:1

Stock LT4 compression is 10.8:1.... the builder is strongly suggesting the 10.4...

This motor should produce 500 to 525hp (peak) with 10.4:1 and about 540 to 550hp with the 11.2:1

For each point increase in compression you gain about 3% HP.

Hard choice... :)

who is building this???
