Have almost everything fixed on my '86 now. Just noticed that the extreme right portion of the 3rd brake light(or top as you would look at it) is out...looks like there may be 4 bulbs or so....any hints on changing this??

There are four individual halogen bulbs in the rear high mount stop light. To access them, first raise the hatch, then remove the bolts at the roof "halo" area (front of the hatch) securing the assembly to the hatch. (There should be a rubber gasket between the assembly and the roof halo.)

If I remember corectly, you should be able to access the bulbs at this point. Use care and use either rubber surgical gloves or the little bag the bulbs come in, to insert the new bulbs. The oils from your skin, if they get on the bulb, will cause it to possibly explode when it heats up. At any rate, you'll ruin it with body oils, so use protection. ;)

Ken pretty well covered it --- accept for the price :beer I think those babies were about $12 - $18 a piece. I ad to replace three at the same time and it seemed like a lot of cash for some little bulbs :crazy

I would not buy the bulbs first ,they fall out from closing the deck all the time ,they may be ok.
You will need a very large tork bit.

Update

A very easy fix! The extreme right bulb was blown. $15 for that little bulb!! easy job anyway....10 minutes. Thanks .
