On the overdrive unit, right behind the filler plug and slightly up, there is a white/yellow plastic fitting in the housing with an electric plug on it.

It has a very slight oil leak at it.

Can anyone tell me what holds this plastic piece in place and is there an "O" ring on it to stop leakage?

Thanks ... Ron

You mean that one on the left?

Sure looks like it ... <G>

Pan have to come off to service it?

And I just had the pan off to replace the filter ... never noticed the leak at the plastic before..... GRRRRRR!!!!

Neat pic!!!

That part is listed as the "Electric Overdrive Selinoid Connector" and yes it does have an "O ring" behind it. If I was you, and seeing as its plastic, I would get a new one before I tried to remove the old one. Because of age, plastic gets brittle, and if you break it and you can't find another you are sunk. Once you have a new one look at it and see if it screws in or, this is my bet, it is held in with a spring. (the ring type)

The pic you mentioned does not belong to me, I borrowd it from this guy.
