Question for anyone who may have done this. I have a 1980 Corvette with the L-48 350 engine. It is completely stock. I would like to make some engine modifications to boost power. I would also like to replace the radiator with a 4 row unit to help with the added heat. Has anyone replaced their stock radiator with a 4 row radiator. Is there any modification involved or is it a direct fit. Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

Your best bet would be a 2 row aluminum. Be Cool and Griffin make a direct fit.

I am going to add the same as above. Go with an aluminum radiator. This is what was used in the big blocks of the 60s and they kept their cool so it should be good enough for a small block.

I also suggest a 2-row Al rad. Universal fit 31x19 overall for under $170 if you're kinda handy. Check the links below. However, if aluminum’s not in the cards ... Yours probably came with a 3-row brass-copper ... same 3-row was used in most 77 thru 82 ... 77 thru 79 was available with HDC (hvy duty cool) having 4-row b-c. I haven’t done it but an OE-type replacement 4-core should fit with little or no massaging. Just check your local discount parts house for 4-row (HDC) for 77-79 vette ... probably about $225-$275. Modine (usa brand) b-c 3-row pn = 717 ... b-c 4-row pn = 718.
