48MM VS 52 MM THROTTLE BODY

I'm looking for a 48MM throttle body (TPS mounting holes stripped) unit for my 1989 six speed conv and can't seem to find one anywhere. Most of the vendors (TPIS, HOLLEY, BBK) seem to only offer a 52MM. Will the 52MM fit the stock plenum without modification?

Have you tried a salvage yard? You'll probably save $$$ and some hastle.

Call the tech guys on Monday and ask them. They can give you the scoop on what to do. I wouldn't go any bigger than that.

I'm thinking about grabbing one of them also.

Can you not clean-up drill the holes and rethread with a slightly larger bolt?

I installed one of the BBK 52mm on my 85 and it went on with no problems. It will fit the stock plenium

Do they make Helicoils that small? If so, that would be the cheapest way to go and wouldn't take a lot of time to do.
