52mm throttle body:fuel economy effect?

Gentlemen,

I am beginning to think that rather
than bother with an airfoil, TB bypass,
MAT sensor relocation, that maybe for
$100 more I should just get a 52 mm
throttle body and I would get more
hp out of that change.

But would it kill my gas economy?
How hard is it to install a TB?

I put one on the 90 from TPiS. I am very happy with it. I don't notice any fuel economy difference. It is only really going to make a difference under wide open acceleration.

I say go for it!

BTW, the TPiS version comes with a little air foil made into it.

Ahh,You used one with the miniram right?

I already have a nice air induction system
on mine and I want more power yet, at least
.1 sec faster in the 1/4 mile. (and while
we're talking about that, how do you launch
the LT-1? rev to 3000 rpm and dump the clutch?)

I'm a bit afraid the air increase from
the 52 mm TB might lean out the engine
too much...

Do you think my LT-1 will need an
adjustable fuel regulator for more
pressure to make up for this?

Do you think the LT-1 would need a
custom chip to handle the extra air?

Thanks for any advice!

I would launch between 2 and 3K RPM.

As far as the other mods, they are all a great idea, and may net you more than a tenth.

I think you will overall be happy with the added performance of the 52mm tb, chip/reprogram, adjustable regulator.
