what is the procedure to change a headlight on y 53 Corvette?

First off a Welcome is in order. Next off, WOW, you own a 53! Congrats.

Now on to your question....I don’t have a clue, the only early Vettes I’ve ever seen were in museums. There are some others here who can answer your question as they have owned/do own those early models and have done restoration to them. Hopefully, one of them will check in here pretty soon to let you know how to do that.

what is the procedure to change a headlight on y 53 Corvette?

Super easy to do - take the screw out at the bottom of the bezel - this holds the bezel, bucket, and grill to the body.
Lift from the bottom - careful - and pull the assy up
There is a clip on the headlight bucket on the body that the assy "clips" into
Put the assy aside
remove the screws for the headlight bulb trim ring - exchange the bulb
Reverse the assy
